I would recommend that you go through the previous post ( Udaipur - Day 1 )before hopping onto this one. Well! Having spent an awesome day in the Lake City I was bound to crave for more and on the second day of my stay I decided to explore outskirts of the city. After managing daily chores and having my breakfast at my hotel I hired a taxi (Ola Outstation) and left for Shilp Gram which is about 3 kms west from the city of Udaipur around 10:30 AM and reached the destination within half an hour. ShilpGram Shilpgram (Village of Craft/art) is famous for art and craft of Rajasthan. This place is a perfect destination to look out for and try out the hand woven clothes, embroideries, mirror works and handicrafts. There is an annual fair held here during Nov/Dec and since I was travelling during Dec I got lucky to witness the "Shilgram Mel

Jabalpur is the host to one of the most exotic waterfalls, mesmerizing white marble rocks, High Court of Madhya Pradesh and the Headquarter of Western Central Railway. Bhedaghat - Marble Rocks  Its strategic location makes it readily accessible from any corner of India via Air or rail route. Apart from famous and well known places it has certain lesser known tourist points that are found to be more exotic and appealing.I had vague memories of this place from early school days when I visited with group of my batch mates to participate in a zonal competition during early nineties which happened to be my primary schooling days and whatever I could recall was interesting enough for me to revisit this place with group of friends again. We decided to travel via train and chose MP Sampark Kranti due to convenience in regards to timing & arrival. There were other options too like air travel but considering the cost & overnight travel we zeroed on to MP Sampark Kranti that departs

Explore Entire Mathura - Vrindavan in a Day and half from Delhi NCR

Image
Mathura is famous as the birthplace of beloved Lord Krishna. It is a sacred city located on the banks of river Yamuna  in Uttar Pradesh and attracts great numbers of Hindu pilgrimages and tourists every year who visit the multiple temples & holy places around Mathura -Vrindavan. Devotees throng here to experience the pious beginnings of the Hindu God. The city has numerous small and big temples along with 25 ghats on the river Yamuna where people taking a dip in the evenings would not be an unusual phenomenon. I planned for a quick trip along with family during the closure of the year. We decided to travel via train till Mathura and boarded Taj Express in the Morning from Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station. Shatabdi was another good option but considering the short route & associated cost we preferred Taj Express which started little later than scheduled departure of 07:00 AM however, was  good to recover during the other half and brought us in Mahura Junction around 08:55

A Day Trip to Glorious Gwalior from Delhi

Image
Gwalior Fort Gwalior is known for its medieval history, hilltop fort and musical heritage that boasts of many Sangeet Gharanas and musical celebrations till date. It was beginning of the Indian summer season and I decided to take a day tour of historical Gwalior. I chose to travel by Bhopal Shatabdi Express that leaves New Delhi Railway Station at 06:00 Am and reaches Gwalior around 09:30 AM to save time as well as to experience the fastest train on Indian Soil at that time. It is always pleasant to travel while Winter is going away and summer starts settling in since you don't have to wait or ponder over train delays due to heavy fog or bad weather condition across norther India. Shatabdi started well on time and I was served breakfast along with tea by catering staff. I won't say it was very good but was neither bad. I would say an average one ( Though I found it better during my previous travels in Shatabdi Express). In about an hour and half train reached Mathura - The

It will take months to explore all of them however, if you are short on time you must visit places that offer maximum in terms of scenic beauty and unforgettable experience. Based on my journeys though out my home state here are the must visit locations in Madhya Pradesh. 1. Amarkantak ( TeerthRaj - The King of Pilgrimages) I preferred to visit Amarkantak for  wonderful scenic beauty with rich natural heritage. This is the place where two big mountain ranges of the region Vindhya and the Satpura converge. The biggest and the holiest river of the region Narmada and Sone emerge here. I got to see Kapil Dhara, Dugdh Dhara, Narmada-Udgam and Son Udgam (Origin) Kund and  various temples. Jain temple with the biggest statue of Lord Mahavir with eight-alloy metals was imposing apart from the overall jain architecture. Shri Yantra temple which is also known as "Ta
