Having spent an awesome day in the Lake City I was bound to crave for more and on the second day of my stay I decided to explore outskirts of the city. After managing daily chores and having my breakfast at my hotel I hired a taxi (Ola Outstation) and left for Shilp Gram which is about 3 kms west from the city of Udaipur around 10:30 AM and reached the destination within half an hour. ShilpGram Shilpgram (Village of Craft/art) is famous for art and craft of Rajasthan. This place is a perfect destination to look out for and try out the hand woven clothes, embroideries, mirror works and handicrafts. Udaipur is one of the most beautiful cities in the western India which is known for rich history, culture and Rajputana Heritage. It doesn't only host one of the finest & most exotic properties in India but also known as  the "Venice of the East," for its scenic beauty. It used to be the capital of the great  Rajputana kingdom of Mewar and was founded by Maharana Udai Singh about 550 years ago when he had to shift from Chittorgarh due to Mughal Invasion. It is about 650 km from National Capital Delhi which mere 1.2 hour via flight. By India railway it is 11 hour Journey. It is 800 km from Mumbai which is also about an hour flight. It is located in the south Rajasthan with close proximity to the Gujarat border and is surrounded by Aravali Range of Western ghats that separates it from Thar Desert.
