If you are fond of water sport and adventure - no need to go to places like Goa and other beaches. you can simply pack your bag and travel to Gangrel Dam in Chhatisgarh's Dhamtari district. Considered to be the longest dam at a height of about 67 feet this dam is also known as the Ravishankar Sagar Dam named after Pt. Ravishankar Shukla - 1st CM of MP. It is built across the Mahanadi River which also has Heerakund dam build over it in Odissa state.  This location is about 17 km from Dhamtari city center and about 85 km from Raipur. 

There are many resort in this area however I'd recommend Bardiha Lake view resort which is right on the bank of dam and offers direct access to river bank & joyful water sport. Please refer to the rate list in the second picture below.
